HOSA – Future Health Professionals is a student-led organization whose mission is to promote career opportunities in health care and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. Participation in HOSA provides a unique program of leadership development, motivation, and recognition.
Louisiana HOSA provides two conferences each year. The Fall Forum in October allows students to meet other students from Louisiana who are interested in health careers, and learn about health different professions. A leadership conference in the spring provides learning opportunities and competitive events related to health care, with the opportunity to qualify for national competition.
Students interested in a career in health care may join the HOSA chapter in their middle school, high school, or post-secondary/collegiate school. If there is no chapter in the school, students may contact the State Advisor, Shirlene Bender, at 337-989-0001 to start a chapter in their school or affiliate with the state chapter.
