The goal of SWLAHEC’s Community Health division is to improve the individual and collective health of southwest Louisiana. We achieve this through identifying regional health improvement priorities then implementing information, education, and health services programs that increase public awareness and understanding of the determinants of health and disease. Through established benchmarks and monitored progress, SWLAHEC’s Community Health division works to achieve health equality and eliminate disparities by guiding individuals towards making informed health decisions; thus improving the health of southwest Louisiana.
