SWLAHEC News
On March 7, 1991 the Southwest Louisiana Area Health Education Center (SWLAHEC) was incorporated with a starting staff of two. The current staff is 31 strong and in the last 20 years, the organization has administered nearly $35,000,000 in grants and contracts.

SWLAHEC wishes to thank the LSUHSC School of Medicine - New Orleans for the crucial role it has played in AHEC history in Louisiana. Without the foresight of the medical school to start the Louisiana AHECs and its continued vital support through the years, SWLAHEC would not have been able to serve the people of Louisiana in the manner in which we have.

If you are interested in seeing highlights of SWLAHEC's past, please take a look at the timeline in the 2010 Annual Report (see button at left).
